A Japanese–Korean artist working across installation, performance, and composition, based in Huddersfield, UK.
Her practice employs domestic appliances and waste-like materials to construct kinetic sound sculptures, integrating DIY electronics with invisible forces such as heat, magnetism, and gravity. Her site-specific works treat sound and image as a single experiential field, producing ephemeral situations that explore unstable relationships between noise and silence, time and space.
Her recent work focuses on Korean heritage and diasporic socio-political narratives, researching and sharing marginalised or obscured histories and the complexities of Asian migration communities. She has led two long-term programmes, un(an)kN-O-wn and Cultural Fluidity, delivering concerts, workshops, discussions, publications, and exhibitions between 2023 and 2025.
She works through improvisation and the composition and performance of alternative scores in collaboration with artists and musicians internationally. She is a member of the electronic music collective lappetites (since 2000) and the 9-piece band a.hop.
She is Artistic Director of ame c.i.c., supporting DIY culture and underground art and music scenes, and co-runs the independent publisher mumei publishing.
